| Gap Causes
GAPS are any interruption, inconsistency, incongruity, disagreement,
contradiction or deviation in the implementation of plans and goals such as:
- Lack of commitment to strategy and goals
- Individual and team knowledge are not leveraged
- Ineffective behaviors are tolerated or ignored
- Deadlines are consistently missed
- Turf issues block cooperation and coordination
- Innovation and creativity are missing, yet necessary
- Goal alignment and commitment is weak or non-existent
- Complexity drives up cost and slows down productivity
- Structural, operational or cultural issues block action
- Individuals and groups are unwilling to change
- Incomplete or unclear communications
GAPS are caused by unresolved performance issues among individuals
and between working groups.
WHY DO GAPS EXIST?
Because in today's organization, new leadership skills and knowledge
are required of management to effectivley resolve performance issues
that close GAPS.
Management has the capability to achieve anything they
set their minds to, any plan or goal they create, provided management
is focused, knowledgeable and skillful.
