Meetings
Action learning meetings use all our tools with real
world application skill training.
Meetings are facilitated by Primary Competitive Advantage staff
and take place at the executive, staff or department level. Meetings
are about real world application of the skills, principles, knowledge
and insights gained in the Primary Competitive Analysis, Facilitated
Leadership Skills Training, SACC Performance Profile and coaching
meetings
Meetings deal with real problems in real time. The primary purpose
of action learning meetings is to help groups close gaps and resolve
the inevitable performance issues that arise in achieving a path
of distinction.
Action Learning Meetings have an owner or sponsor of
a specific goal, issue or problem. The owner has the opportunity
to practice competencies that:
- Allow the group to think outside the “box” and
create innovative solutions
- Help abandon old ways of thinking that are not working
- Resolve disagreements in such a way individuals create agreement
and commitment
- Provide insight to problem solving through questioning, listening
and reflection
- Hold individuals and groups accountable for the actions taken
- Make it okay to pose difficult questions and get answers
- Establish goal commitment through realistic expectations
- Create conversations that engage and inspire in such a way
individuals are committed to and accountable for outcomes
- Develop the discipline and follow-through needed to sustain
action
The owner of the meeting also receives one-on-one feedback
from the facilitator after the meeting. This information allows
the sponsor to learn:
- New insights into their behavior and thinking
- The impact communication has on individual and group action
- How to create a supportive, collaborative working environment
and still retain control.
